Description
The monumental icon, which comes from a church iconostasis, shows the depiction of the Mother of God holding the Christ child in her arms, while he embraces her full of tenderness with one hand and presses his cheek against hers. His gaze is fixed on the Mother of God as she gazes at the viewer with her large almond-shaped eyes. Fine elaboration of the incarnate parts in shades of brown, beige and red as well as splendid decoration of the garment. Signed in Cyrillic lower right '1714 painted KA FED (?)'.
