Description

In the slightly recessed field of the painting, a half-figure depiction of the Mother of God, wearing a dark red maphorion and holding the Christ child on her left arm. She points to him with her right hand. Christ has raised his right hand in blessing, in his left he holds a closed scroll. Over his chiton Christ wears an orange-coloured himation with a rich gold lining.
